Transforming Maternity & Neonatal Care through actionable insights

Software as a service reporting to highlight issues and root causes.

C2-Ai provide clinicians and hospital managers with the detailed, real-time, risk-adjusted clinical data and critical performance insights they need to support their Maternity & Neonatal Safety Improvement Goals.

Using existing hospital data and requiring zero integration, C2-Ai’s Maternity and Neonatal Analytics turns data into insights and insights into actions, supporting the rapid identification and remediation of existing and developing issues in care delivery and ensuring a demonstrable gold standard of care provision.

Zero integration and implementation ‘Information as a Service’ means this system can deliver clinical performance insights in your hospital in days rather than months.

Benefits of our unique approach to reducing variation, avoidable harm, mortality and costs

Healthcare providers can rapidly implement changes to working practices and target appropriate training that will reduce clinical complications and avoidable harm in order to improve outcomes for mother and baby. Using C2-Ai quickly identifies where problems exist today and analyzes long-term trends in variations from internationally accepted maternity and neonatal service benchmarks.

It is proven that timely, targeted, and effective interventions result in fewer complications, cutting the number of stillbirths, brain, nerve, and other birth injuries for babies and reducing perinatal maternal deaths and injuries.

Improvements in care quality and patient safety lead directly to better outcomes for mother and baby, lower costs, and a reduction in litigation.

By enabling early identification of performance failures and allowing for targeted intervention, remediation, and training, we can stop a short-term localized issue from becoming a crisis.

The above example shows a 3-year clinical performance review showing the impact of intervention on reducing cerebral brain injuries, overlayed with an increase in caesarean deliveries.

Analytics Solutions for Maternity and Neonatal Services

Maternity & Neonatal Clinical Performance Audit

The journey to improved maternity and neonatal safety begins with a clinical performance audit.  The audit examines 43 critical performance benchmarks of maternity & neonatal care provision and looks back between 3 & 5 years to provide insight into the current and historical performance of care provision in both specialties. Our clinical team are available to share experiences and offer assistance with interpretation and guide remedial actions where appropriate.

Maternity & Neonatal Analytics Service

Ongoing from the Clinical Performance Audit, the Analytics Service provides monthly reporting using the latest hospital data to provide ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of the critical clinical performance benchmarks to identify existing and developing failings in clinical performance in care delivery.  Allowing you to identify issues and to direct & monitor the progress of targeted remediation and training measures.

As well as providing detailed monthly clinical performance & impact reports direct to clinical and management stakeholders.  The service provides access to our online expert system allowing your team to run bespoke reports, direct enquiries to patient/clinician level and gain further insight into the fine detail both current delivery of services and retrospectively for 3 to 5-years.

C2-Ai Maternity & Neonatal Observatory: System-wide Horizon Scanning

The Observatory provides system-wide ‘horizon scanning’ that continually monitors clinical care delivery, independent of the care providers themselves.

Able to rapidly identify care services where clinical performance is a matter of immediate concern, the Maternity & Neonatal Observatory is the first system designed for large health systems, regulators, and responsible bodies.

This system-wide capability supports maternity & neonatal patient safety improvements by identifying performance outliers and raising automated alerts to the oversight body, enabling early identification of performance failures and allowing for targeted intervention, remediation, and training to stop a short-term localized issue from becoming a full-on Patient Safety disaster.

“CRAB® is generating trusted data which we can use to flag up areas of concern. From there we are able to take action in a much more sophisticated way than we have in the past.”

Dr. Timothy Ho, Medical Director, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, UK

“It took 2 years and a very costly investigation to deal with a competence issue in our organization some time ago. We set C2-Ai the blind challenge of seeing if they could have found the problem in our historical data. They did so in 20 minutes. Needless to say, we have invested in the system

Dr. Michael Roberts, Chief Medical Officer, Northland District Health Board, New Zealand

“I’m often asked about artificial intelligence (AI) in the UK. When I do I always point to C2-AI – saving lives all over the planet by predicting avoidable harm and mortality with world-leading AI based on a dataset of 140 million patients from 46 countries. They are globally unique, innovative, British award-winners. I consider them to be essential for any nation which wants to take digital health seriously.

If their innovation was scaled across the NHS I estimate it would save 70,000 lives and £1bn.”

Hassan Chaudhury, Digital Health Lead at Healthcare UK, DIT, July 2020
