C2-AI chosen by outstanding trust for its experience in real-time risk-adjusted indicators
C2-AI has been awarded a contract with Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a set of tools supporting the trust’s clinical and operational management.
The trust had an incumbent supplier in place but was seeking to increase its clinical data analysis as part of the strategic vision moving forward. Accordingly, Royal Berkshire appointed CRAB Clinical Informatics to provide tools that will offer the trust a number of beneficial insights.
These include the ability to drill down to patient-level data in terms of risk-adjusted mortality and, significantly, risk-adjusted complications, as well as facilitating the provision of real-time risk data to clinicians to support decision making.
Safety, complications and clinical outcome metrics will all be broken down by service, which can support ongoing and future quality assurance initiatives. Additionally, consultant-specific outcome data will save valuable time that would usually be spent compiling information for performance appraisals.
The data sets can also be used as part of the ‘Model Hospital’ and ‘Get it Right First Time’ initiatives.
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust provides acute medical and surgical services to local communities of over 500,000 people in the Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire areas along with specialist services such as cancer, dialysis and eye surgery to a wider population across Berkshire and its borders. It was rated outstanding by the CQC in January 2018.
